List of Useful Books
Basic introductions to witchcraft in general:
- The Life and Times of a Modern Witch,
by Janet and Stewart Farrar; Phoenix Publishing, 1987.
This is a more detailed, and in many ways better introduction
than The Truth About Witchcraft Today, but it is now
(sadly) out of print.
- The Pagan Path,
by Janet and Stewart Farrar and Gavin Bone; Phoenix Publishing, 1995.
This is oriented towards paganism in general, rather than Wicca,
but contains a lot of good material.
- The Spiral Dance (Twentieth Anniversary Edition),
by Starhawk; Harper San Francisco, 1979, 1989, 1999.
This is the best, and most popular, introduction to Wicca and
Goddess religion available today. It should be in every
witch's library. (Note: As you read it, be sure to go
read every footnote; the body of the book is the 1979
version, and the footnotes bring it up to 1999.)
- The Truth About Witchcraft Today,
by Scott Cunningham; Llewellyn Publications, 1992.
This is shorter, less formal, and more easily read by those
who might be a little scared by the whole topic of witchcraft
than The Life and Times of a Modern Witch.
